JOINT ACTION DAY
AGAINST EVICTIONS OF REFUGEES
We
are calling everybody to the anti-racist demonstration
SATURDAY 20th OF JUNE 2pm AT
OMONOIA SQUARE
Dear friends refugees
As you already know, the
Greek government has decided to evict thousands of refugees whose asylum rights
have been recognized from the places where they live. According to the Ministry
of Immigration - more than 10,000 refugees from camps, hotels and apartments
will be on the streets in the coming days without any support from the Greek
state and international refugee protection agencies, without being provided
with way to ensure their livelihood.
This decision continues and
enhances the anti-refugee policy based on EU - Turkey agreement and deprives
victims of war, persecution and torture inalienable right to provide safe
haven. It is a policy that does not respect human rights, as well as similar
decisions of other EU countries. for closed borders, fortress – Europe and
restriction of the right to asylum and freedom of refugees.
And as directed against
refugees, and thus directed against the rights of workers, youth, unemployed,
retired, in order to serve the interests of the financial oligarchy.
Under the pretext of
decongesting the camps on the Aegean islands where people have been trapped for
months or even years, thousands of families are being deprived of the housing
provided by the ESTIA program and the allowance provided to refugees by the
same program.
The Coordination for Refugees
/ Immigrants of Associations, collectives and Student Associations supports the
rights of all refugees to housing, decent living standards, access to health,
education, working with equal rights.
We are by your side to
organize your struggle, in coordination with the unions and the collectives of
the workers and the people. We stand in solidarity and will remain on the same
paths until we win.
We are fighting with you for:
·
No
eviction of refugees.
·
No
use of force or state repression aimed at removing refugees from their places
of residence.
·
Continue
and expand housing programs for all, recognized and asylum-seekers, refugees
in homes in our cities and
villages.
·
Close
refugee concentration camps. No to closed facilities – prisons for refugees.
·
Acommodation
of refugees in residences within cities and villages is an inalienable human
right that we do not stop fighting for.
Our common struggles aim to:
·
Asylum
to all refugees without restrictions.
·
Cancel
the EU-Turkey racist agreement.
·
Open
the borders for refugees and allow them to move freely for whatever country
they want to settle.
·
Stop
wars and imperialist interventions
